How The Extension Works
Prompt Armour runs entirely within your browser. When you type or paste text into a supported AI chatbot (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude), the extension:
Scans the text locally using pattern matching and entropy analysis
Highlights detected sensitive data in the browser
Allows you to redact the data before sending
All processing happens in-memory within your browser. No input text, detection results, or redacted content is ever transmitted outside your device.
Local Storage
The extension uses Chrome's local storage API solely to save your preferences:
No sensitive data, input content, or detection results are ever stored.
Third-Party Services
Prompt Armour does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party services, APIs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.

The extension requires the following browser permissions:
Data Sharing
We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data with any third party for any reason.
This is absolute and unconditional.
Children's Privacy
Prompt Armour does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes To This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the changes here with an updated date. Since we collect no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
